Abstract
Quinine (QN) and quinidine (QD) ion-pair diastereomeric complex resolution based on phase-modulation resolved fluorescence has been developed. (+)-10- Camphorsulfonic acid used as a counter-ion gives diastereomeric complexes w ith QN and QD which have different stabilities. They show different lifetim es (QN complex, tau=21.79 ns and QD complex, tau=22.89 ns). On the basis of this difference both complexes have been determined, obtaining a detection limit of 1.8 mu M for the QN complex and a 0.97 mu M for the QD complex. ( C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V.
