Model developed for simulation of liquid water radiolysis by electrons
has been adapted to light ions. The model is based on Monte Carlo sim
ulation of particle tracks, the Debye-Smoluchowski theory of reactions
between radicals, and a random flight method to simulate diffusion of
species. The decay kinetics (10(-12)s-10(-5)s) of OH radical, hydrate
d electron and molecular products H-2 and H2O2 are reported as a funct
ion of ion energy (LET).
