Aqueous aerated solutions of aminoguanidine (AMG) of concentrations [A
MG](0) varying from 10(-5) to 6x10(-4) M have been submitted to the ac
tion of OH. and O-2(.-) free radicals produced by gamma radiolysis of
water. The evolution of the disappearance yield of AMG, G(-AMG), versu
s AMG concentration has been determined. The G-value obtained for the
plateau of the dilution curve, is equal to 2.2x10(-7) mol/J. Several h
ypothesis involving in addition to the action of OH. free radicals, th
ese of O-2(.-) free radicals and/or of hydrogen peroxyde are discussed
