Abstract
The genus and the type species Raza collaris Distant are redescribed. A new species R. nishidai and its 2nd and 4th instars are described. Raxa is com pared with 4 similar genera, Melamphaus Stal, Probergrothius Kirkaldy, Rosc ius Stal, and Antilochus Stal; Raxa appears to be most closely realted to t he last. R. collaris occurs in Vietnam and Laos, and R. nishidai has been c ollected only from Indonesia. R. nishidai is predacious, particularly upon the pyrrhocorid Melamphaus faber (F,); it is not known if R. collaris is al so predacious. Predation in the Pyrrhocoridae is discussed briefly.
