Abstract
We report on automated pulse compression of regeneratively amplified femtos econd laser pulses. By employing a feedback-controlled evolutionary algorit hm in combination with a femtosecond pulse shaper which is based on a liqui d crystal display spatial light modulator, complex phase-modulated laser pu lses are optimized, resulting in bandwidth-limited amplified laser pulses. The results obtained are checked in detail by FROG analysis.
