Y. Kanamaru et al., A high-Mr glycoprotein fraction from cow's milk potent in inhibiting replication of human rotavirus in vitro, BIOS BIOT B, 63(1), 1999, pp. 246-249
Rotavirus is the major cause of infectious diarrhea in infants and young ch
ildren all over the world. We have found that a high-M-r glycoprotein fract
ion from cow's milk is potent in inhibiting replication of human rotaviruse
s in vitro. Since the activity seems to be unique and specific, this fracti
on may be useful as a novel agent for treatment or prevention of rotavirus
diarrhea.
