Abstract
Essential oil of the secondary wood of Santalum fernandezianum, an extinct tree of the Juan Fernandez Islands was analyzed by GLC-MS. beta-santalol (1 ) and beta-santalen (2) were isolated, the latter is responsible for the fr agrance of the wood acid exhibits various biological activities.
