J. Nabekura et al., Blockade of K+ current and modulation of ionotropic glutamate responses indissociated cortical neurons of rat by sigma ligand, CALCIUM ION MODULATORS, 1998, pp. 115-122
Effects of a ligands, NE-100 and SKF 10,047 were investigated in acutely di
ssociated rat cortical neurons using nystatin perforated patch recording co
nfiguration under voltage-clamp condition. Both NE-100 and SKF 10,047 induc
ed inward currents, resulting from the blockade of tonic, outward K+ curren
t. They also suppressed NMDA-induced inward current but oppositely potentia
ted AMPA- and KA-induced inward currents, indicating that these a ligands d
ifferently modulate the ionotropic glutamate responses.
