Abstract
Fluorous solvents have limited miscibility with conventional organic solven ts, Combined with the fact that compounds functionalized with perfluorinate d groups often dissolve preferentially in fluorous solvents this can be use d to extract fluorous components from reaction mixtures. This review discus ses the application and potential of fluorous phase separation techniques f or the recovery of soluble metal catalysts.
