Project millennium - Cornerstone for growth

The next step in Suncor Energy inc's strategy for oil sands growth, Project Millennium builds on the successes of Suncor's recently opened Steepbank M ine. A $2.2 billion expansion plan, Project Millennium provides the infrast ructure that will increase plant capacity to 76.6 million barrels (210 000 barrels per day) by the year 2002. This will be achieved through expansions of the Steepbank Mine, modifications to existing plant facilities and cons truction of new plant components. Pending regulatory approval Project Millennium will provide the cornerstone of future growth for Suncor Energy.
