Five different bacterial and fungal aerosols were tested in a vertically ar
ranged bioaerosol test sequence to determine the accumulation capacity of a
slit impactor (FH2, Loreco Reckert). The capacity values (cut-of value and
d(50)-value) were ascertained by weighted aerodynamic germ diameters and c
orresponding accumulation capacities. For this purpose, two different metho
ds (quantitative culture method and particle determination method) were app
lied. Both methods resulted in a cut-off value for the FH, impactor of appr
ox. 1.1 mu m. Capacity values (cut-off values) were determined for air germ
collectors with a maximum suction pow of 3 m(3)/h by employing the bioaero
sol test sequence. The accumulation capacity can be assessed either by mean
s of the culture method, or the particle determination method, and cut-off
values can be used to compare biogenous air pollution concentrations of var
ious enrichment procedures.
