Vibrational spectra, thermodynamic parameters and fungicidal activity of 2-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzaldehyde thiosemicarbazone

Vibrational spectra thermodynamic functions and fungicidal activity of 2-hy droxy-3-methoxybenzaldehyde thiosemicarbazone have been reported. The infra red spectra are recorded on Spex Rama Lab spectrophotometer in the region 4 00-4000 cm(-1) in KBr pellets and nujol mull. The thermodynamic parameters have also been calculated using IR frequencies with the help of computer pr ogramming. The group sensitive fundamentals ate compared with those of simi lar molecules already reported in the literature. The fungicidal activity o f the said compound has been tested. A correlation between thermodynamic pa rameters and antifungal activity has also been formulated.
