Abstract
Spectral diffusion waiting time experiments at 100 mK combined with aging t ime experiments are used to shed light on the features of the energy landsc ape of a cytochrome c-type protein and the respective conformational dynami cs. The energy landscape shows features of a hierarchical organization. The time law which governs the dynamics in conformational phase space is a pow er law. The respective processes seem to be related to generalized diffusiv e-like motions. (C) 1999 American Institute of Physics. [S0021-9606(99)5180 6-0].
