Abstract
The conductive-radiative transfer problem in an inhomogeneous plane-paralle l medium of anisotropic scattering with specularly and diffusely reflecting boundaries is considered. A Galerkin-iterative technique is used to solve the coupled radiative-conductive heat equations in integral forms. The temp erature, the conductive, the radiative and the total heat fluxes are calcul ated which show good agreement with the published calculations for homogene ous media of transparent or reflected boundaries with isotropic or anisotro pic scattering. Calculations are also carried out for inhomogeneous media o f transparent or diffuse and specular reflecting boundaries with isotropic or anisotropic scattering, (C) 1999 Elsevier Science Ltd.
