Abstract
The atomic structure of liquid Te1-xIx mixtures with x = 0.2, 0.4, 0.5, 0.6 , 0.7, 0.8 and 0.9 has been measured in the temperature range from 525 to 8 73 K, Distinct changes in the structure factors hate been observed in the c oncentration ranges from x = 0.2 to 0.4 and from 0.8 to 0.9. The structural changes in Te-I mixtures mainly reflect the variation in the number-number correlation function. The metal-nonmetal transition in this system is clos ely related to the change in topology of the melt. The iodine-iodine correl ation mainly contributes to the first peak region in the radial distributio n function of liquid Te0.1I0.9.
