Abstract
Methane, ethane and ethylene are oxidised by hydrogen peroxide in aqueous s olutions at room temperature and atmospheric pressure in the presence of pe roxocomplexes of copper(II) hydroxide; the reaction presumably proceeds by a non-radical mechanism.
