Abstract
The differences in the efficiency of laser-induced degradation of foil samp les of thermally expanded graphite are determined by differences in the den sity of the foil and in the concentration of nonequilibrium crystallite def ects in the starting thermally expanded graphite and depend on the thermody namics of carbon evaporation in the vicinity of the critical point.
