Abstract
A new reaction between aromatic isocyanides containing electron-withdrawing substituents and triethylamine is described which allows 2-triethylammoniu m-3-arylaminoindolates to be obtained. The structure of the compounds was d etermined by X-ray analysis, NMR and mass spectroscopy.
