Abstract
Based on a 1D model, the atom-ion collisions in intense laser fields were i nvestigated. It has been found that if the laser intensities are suitable, the "Coulomb explosion" caused by the enhanced ionization at the critical i nternuclear distance may increase the kinetic energy of the colliding parti cles.
