As. El-tabl et al., Synthesis and characterization of novel copper(II) complexes of dehydroacetic acid thiosemicarbazone, POL J CHEM, 73(2), 1999, pp. 245-254
Dehydroacetic acid thiosemicarbazone and its copper(II) complexes have been
synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, IR, VIS-UV, magnetic
susceptibility, conductivity, DTA and ESR spectra. Molar conductance indica
tes that the complexes are non-electrolytes except for [Cu(H2L)]SO4.2H(2)O.
The ESR spectra of the complexes show axial type symmetry with g(parallel
to) > g(perpendicular to) > 2.00 indicating d(x2-y2) ground state with sign
ificant covalent bond character.
