Abstract
The paper describes the concept of the uncertainty of measurement implement ed in the ISO/BIPM Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement [2 ] (German translation Leitfaden zur Angabe der Unsicherheit beim Messen [3] ) and discusses its importance and consequences for quality assurance aspec ts in metrology.
