Abstract
In the Paleocene-Eocene transition deposits of Belgium, South England, Nort h Germany and Denmark five biostratigraphic events in the succession of din oflagellate cysts are selected. These successive events correspond to phase s of increasing transgression in the southern North Sea Basin.
