Abstract
Both K10- as well as modified montmorillonites such as cation-exchanged and surfactant-pillared clays catalyse the cleavage of carbon-sulfur single bo nds resulting in dealkylation of organic sulfides. The corresponding disulf ides are obtained in high yield.
