Abstract
Bond length variations in molecules containing the groups X-C=, X-C=C- CN, XH2C-C=, X2HC-C=, X3C-C=, XH2C-CH2-C, XH2C-CH2-CH2-C= and XH2C-CH2 -C= have been considered (X = F, Cl, Br, I). Missing values have been estimated on the basis of the systematic variations in bond lengths. T he X-C bond lengths have been compared with the corresponding bonds in halogen-substituted alkanes. Systematic trends have been pointed out. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science B.V.
