Kinetic evaluations play an essential role in the registration procedure of
drugs and pesticides for quantifying the exposition of organisms to the ap
plied chemicals. Population based analysis methods provide a means for redu
cing experimental effort for parameter estimation and are meanwhile well es
tablished in pharmaceutical research. In spite of many similarities between
pesticide and drug development, this promising procedure up to now has not
been transferred to environmental sciences. In this paper, we show that po
pulation based analysis works equally well in environmental sciences as in
pharmacokinetics. As an example, the evaluation of pesticide degradation in
several soils is presented.
