Abstract
The numerical solution of the Helmholtz equation suffers from a dispersion error. A general method to calculate a priori the dispersion error is formu lated and applied to the methods suggested in the literature in order to mi nimize the dispersion. (C) Academie des sciences/Elsevier, Paris.
