Abstract
Neisseria gonorrhoeae is a highly adapted human pathogen that utilises mult iple adhesins to interact with a variety of host cell receptors, Recently, substantial progress has been made in unravelling the signalling events ind uced by N. gonorrhoae that can lead to cytoskeletal reorganisation, invasio n or phagocytic uptake, intraphagosomal accommodation, nuclear signalling, cytokine/chemokine release and apoptosis.
