Abstract
A consensus conference on neonatal hearing screening was held in Milan, Ita ly, on 15 and 16, May 1998. At this conference evidence was presented by sp ecialists in various fields including epidemiology, audiology, otolaryngolo gy, communication disorders, speech-language pathology, education and healt h economics(1). It was reviewed by a panel of experts(2). A consensus state ment was produced and is reported here.
