Abstract
The vanadium(V)-4-(2-pyridylazo)resorcinol-h peroxide system was studied fo r the development of an optical sensor for vanadium. Vanadium(V) was adsorb ed on the solid phase of a fibrous material filled with the AB-17 anion exc hanger from a weakly acidic solution containing hydrogen peroxide. Next, it was determined with 4-(2-pyridylazo)resorcinol by diffuse reflection spect roscopy. The limit of detection is 0.5 mu g/L. A procedure for determining vanadium in fresh water was developed.
