The new 14-hydroxy-12-oxo-10E,13E,15E-octadecatrienoic acid (1) was isolate
d from the fruit bodies of a Vietnamese edible mushroom, Cantharellus fries
ii QUEL. Purification was done by liquid chromatography and gel-permeation
chromatography. The structure was settled by mass spectrometric and NMR inv
estigations.
