Abstract
National Human Resource Development Directorate(NHRDD) of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) has been collecting data and compiling information on the annual outtum of trained manpower in all the fields of science and engineering from various universities an d colleges, and the institutions having deemed-university status. A co mparative analysis is made here of 'S & T Manpower in India' with othe r Asian countries in general, and with the USA, in particular,bn the b asis of outturn data for the period 1966 to 1989.
