M. Patel et Bk. Padhi, A STUDY OF ALUMINA PARTICULATES USING CELLULOSIC SUBSTRATES, Journal of Scientific & Industrial Research, 56(2), 1997, pp. 91-94
The salient features for production of ceramic fibres from various pla
nt materials using substrate mechanism of digestion with salt solution
, followed by coking (350 degrees C) and pyrolysis (1000 degrees C) ar
e presented. Micrographs of alumina particulates have been obtained us
ing saw dust as well as cellulose powder. The diameter of the alumina
particulates formed from saw dust are in the range 0.25-0.37 mm while
the diameter of those based on cellulose is 0.34 mm. Production of zeo
lite type silicate and aluminosilicate from rice husk is also reported
.
