Abstract
Set up during 1996, the CEOS Database on User Requirements and Space C apabilities was implemented to serve, in the first instance, the Task Force for Planning and Analysis, which was created under the auspices of the Committee for Earth Observation Satellites (CEOS). Its purpose was to analyse user requirements and assess to which extent current an d planned Earth observing systems from space can meet them. The databa se is now available to support further CEOS initiatives and the Earth- observation community.
