Novel amorphous organobridged polysilsesquioxane porous powders have been p
repared via hydrolytic precipitation from solutions of 1,4-bis(trichlorosil
ylmethyl)benzene. These new porous materials have been characterized by SEM
, nitrogen sorption measurements and solid state C-13 and Si-29 NMR spectro
scopy. The internal structure and porosity of the amorphous materials are c
orrelated to the process conditions.
