Abstract
A nonsingular transformation algorithm which converts a singular control pr oblem to nonsingular one was developed to calculate optimal control profile s. Several chemical engineering problems for applying a nonsingular transfo rmation algorithm were presented and optimal profiles were calculated in th is paper. The singular control algorithm and nonsingular transformation alg orithm were compared. The efficiency of the transformation algorithm was di splayed in this article. The switching points from bang-bang to singular co ntrol were calculated by imposed initial conditions and control variable co nstraints.
