Abstract
A recent paper in the literature (Mod Phys. Lett. B, 9 (1995) 1673) introdu ced the Intermediate Number Squeezed State (INSS) of the quantized radiatio n field, interpolating between the number state in) and the squeezed-cohere nt state \z,alpha], exhibiting various nonclassical properties. Here, we in troduce an alternative state, interpolating between those limiting states a nd show that nonclassical effects in this new intermediate state can be gre ater than those exibited by the INSS, depending on the values of the interp olating parameters. Although constituting an application of a general appro ach (Nuovo Cimento D, 18 (1996) 425), it includes another case in the liter ature (Phys. Scr., 55 (1997) 179) as a particularization of ours.
