Abstract
The paper presents a comparison between experimental and theoretical transm ission curves obtained for a two-dimensional dielectric photonic crystal. W e get a perfect agreement on the transmission peaks inside the gap for a cr ystal with microcavities. Some discrepancies observed on the low frequency side of the gap are analyzed, and we highlight the most probable origins of this disagreement. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
