Abstract
The focusing of Ne metastable atoms trapped in magnetic-optical trap b y a microwave cavity was demonstrated. The cavity was operated at TM01 0 mode. With a microwave power of 14 W, the Ne trap was imaged to a sp ot of about 0.25 mm (full width at half maximum value) which is nearly the geometric-optics limit.
