Abstract
The stability of shock wave propagation in a weakly ionized gas is consider ed It has been shown that in an appropriate model the corresponding solutio ns of the stationary equations turn out to be unstable in the Lyapunov sens e. The general character of this result is emphasized and possible conseque nces are pointed out.
