The critical behavior of the transverse ferromagnetic spin-1/2 using model
of an alternating magnetic superlattice is examined using the framework of
the effective field theory with a probability distribution technique that a
ccounts for the self-spin correlation function. The critical temperature of
the alternating superlattice is calculated as a function of the intralayer
and interlayer exchange interactions, the strength of the transverse field
and the film thickness. The effects of modified surface layers on the crit
ical temperature of the system are also considered.
