Abstract
Two new withanolides isolated from the whole plant material of Physalis per uviana (Solanaceae) have been characterized as (20R,22R)-5 alpha, 6 beta,14 alpha,20,27-pentahydroxy-1-oxowith-24-enolide, and (20S,22R)-5 beta,6 beta -epoxy-4 beta,14 beta,15 alpha-trihydroxy-1-oxowith-2,24-dienolide in addit ion to the known withanolides, withaphysanolide and viscosalactone B on the basis of spectroscopic techniques and chemical transformations.
