Abstract
Tolerance to salinity was studied in 161 strains of bacteria isolated from the rhizosphere of two soybean varieties (Glycine max L,. Merril var. Tanca cha and Glycine max L. Merril var. UFV1), belonging to a typical Hapludol a nd a udic Argiudol from the Northern Pampeana Soybean Region and the Northe rn Region of Argentina, respectively. Strains were tested in 10% TSA plus o f 2%, 5%, 10% and 15% of NaCl. In the latter two, the osmotic stress effect is made evident.
