Patients with diabetes face special challenges while traveling. However, su
ch challenges can be easily anticipated and avoided by planning ahead. A pr
e-travel office visit gives physicians the opportunity to review diabetes m
anagement with patients and provide them with important information and ins
tructions to prevent emergencies.
