Abstract
During three years 16 dogs with lymphosarcoma of stages IV and V and differ ent anatomical types were treated with a doxorubicin-based combination chem otherapy at the Small Animal Clinic of the School of Veterinary Medicine, H annover. Complete remission was achieved in twelf cases (75%) and four pati ents (25%) reached partial remission, 50 per cent (n = 8) of the patients w ere still in remission after six months of treatment, however the number of dogs in remission decreased below 20 per cent after twelf months. This pre sented group of lymphosarcoma patients exhibits a one year survival rate of 25 per cent. 12.5 per cent of the treated patients are long-time survivors with survival times being longer than two years. Since part of the examine d patients are still in remission at the time of publishing, it remains to be seen if these presented results improve in the future.
