Abstract
The fuel injection system is the most important part of a Diesel engine. Th e delivery valve represents and important element in a fuel injection syste m. Correct operation of a fuel injection system depends upon a proper opera tion of the delivery valve. In order to learn more about the movement of th e delivery valve and to be able to make a comparison with calculated values , a displacement transducer for the delivery valve was designed. The inductive measuring method was chosen from several alternatives. To kee p the weight of the delivery valve unchanged and to retain the dimensions i n the delivery valve holder, two coils were built in. In this way, the hydr aulic conditions in the delivery valve holder as well as the weight of the delivery valve remained unchanged. The test proved that linearity was suitable. During operation of the pump, the pressure in the valve holder increases up to 1000 bar. The coils were a ble to stand this pressure.
