Abstract
Excess molar enthalpies, H-m(E) of binary mixtures containing acetic or pro pionic acid+eight ethyl alkanoates have been determined at 298.15 K using a flow microcalorimeter. H-m(E) values have been found to be positive with t he exception of the acetic acid + ethyl acetate mixtures where an inversion of sign from positive to negative values occurs at the mole fraction of ac etic acid x(1) approximate to 0.62 J mol(-1). H-m(E) values vary in the ran ge from -30 to 440 J mol(-1). The experimental results have been correlated using the Redlich-Kister equation. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V.
