In neurogenic bladder dysfunction conservative treatment is preferred whene
ver possible and preservation of renal function remains the main topic. Add
itionally, a patient-related form of bladder management with decreased intr
avesical pressure and social dryness is needed. Therefore many strategies a
re available and after evaluation of the underlying neurogenic bladder dysf
unction an individual kind of treatment can be used. Possible options are t
he clean intermittent catherization, anticholinergic drugs, detrusor trigge
ring, electrical stimulation and bladder emptying by Valsalva's manouvre.
