The effect of test conditions on the leaching of stabilised MSWI fly ash in Portland cement

The leaching properties of major elements from stabilised municipal solid w aste incinerator (MSWI) fly ash conditioned with ordinary Portland cement w ere investigated as a function of time up to similar to 544 days using a Du tch tank leaching test, NEN 7345, and a modified form of this test in which pH was controlled by bubbling air through the leachant. In both cases a tr ansition between short-term regimes of relatively rapid leaching and a long er-term regime, commencing after similar to 10 days to 100 days, can be dis tinguished.
