The main elements of continuous quality improvement (CQI) are considered. S
uggestions are made how an individual and a department can use certain aspe
cts of CQI for the improvement of our courses and programs. Partnerships wi
th others are encouraged to help in these efforts. To improve the recruitme
nt of students to the statistics profession, it is urged that a high level
workshop be held to consider strengthening our undergraduate programs and b
eginning statistics courses.
