Abstract
The work concentrates upon two aspects of the heterogeneous deformatio n: a) the extent of slip (shear) across several grains during shear ba nding - the physical nature of this phenomenon and the role of mechani cal instability of the metal substructure in formation of micro shear bands and b) formation of pseudo periodic transgranular (fiber-like co mposite) arrangement of martensite plates during stress induced transf ormation of the matrix having mechanically unstable dislocation substr ucture.
